Crafting Borrelli ties
In its ties, the Borrelli label has kept to its ancient artisan traditions. The seven-fold tie, one of the boasts of Neapolitan tailoring, is produced by the hand-cutting of every single piece of fabric. This ensures that the pattern in the fabric is perfectly centred - something that a machine could never do. Every Borrelli tie is made from a full metre and a half of fabric, twice what other manufacturers use to make a tie. This gives the ties a substance and a fit that are unique and an unmatched resistance to wear and tear.
1. Cutting is the first step in making a tie, and it is done by skilled artisans. 2. Every tie is hand-made, which is why every cutting is checked one by one in order to guarantee a perfect design and to maintain the geometry of the fabric.
3. The two sides of the tie are paired up.
4. This care results in a garment that is resistant to being deformed.
5. Pinning the tie, with respect to the pattern of the fabric.
6. The final stitching is applied to the tie.
7. Elegance and accuracy are the hallmarks of a Borrelli tie.
8. The tab is added.
9. The label is added by hand - Borrelli's guarantee of work properly done.
